Description
Everybody should be 'almost' happy now
Julien : happy to have 4 balanced and fast lines thats fits the style he's looking for
(Actually those lines are so balanced i can't even say which lines is 1,2,3.)
Danault : happy to be with 2 offensive player (Domi, Caufield). Didn't get the money he wanted but got term and will be part of the core of leaders
Bergevin : happy to have a little cap space left
Lehkonen : very happy
Poehling : Not so much

I chose Hall and Domi over Gally and Tatar. Can you really blame me ? It was a hard choice but we just can't keep everybody and Domi has higher upside. I trust that Lehkonen can somehow play Gally's role for much cheaper. He was great in last playoffs.

2 things for this to work and turn Habs to contenders :Domi and Drouin have to work a little harder and buy in Julien's plan. KK and Suzuki must continue their progression and take another small step in the next 2-3 years.

    Petry would prefer 3y x 6M
    and Danault nothing under 5,5-6M

I'm far from being happy if Lehkonen's my first line winger.

Petry just put his kids in school in Michigan, And said that he'd like to play closer to home near Michigan. So if true and a Hab fan posted it only going by what he said. Then why would Petry resign back with Montreal that's some 400 miles away from Michigan?

Ok, this can be worked out. But if you were Petry would'nt you like securing an extra year playing with the same team, now that the habs are getting better. I would.

Danault 5.5-6 is ok but that's the maximum or Domi 's back on center

More importantly after being on a bargain contract for a 40-50 point dman who logs considerable minutes, why would he take a pay cut when this is probably his last chance at a big contract. If they resign petry its min 6mil per and depending on how Fluery looks this year i think they part ways. Danault is most likely gone either traded or tests free agency, he has already expressed being unhappy about 3rd line ice time, and i dont think an entire year on the third line is going to make him feel any better about it.
Hall contract may be close to what happens, but its nearly impossible to predict what the market will be like this year and Hall should have enough interest to be able to drive up his price a bit.
