According to sources, the NJ Devils are very interested in bringing back Ilya Kovalchuk and this effort is being led by Mark Recchi who was part of the effort to try and bring Kovy to Pittsburgh prior. I am told Kovalchuk is very open to the idea and really enjoyed his time with the Devils. Recchi and Kovalchuk played together in Atlanta and remain close.

Yeah is that why Kovalchuk left NJ for personal reasons, And then refused to play for them when he came back to North America. Sounding like more that Kovalchuk plans on resigning with Montreal.
