You've offered Columbus fair value for Anderson, so good job there. However, he's not likely to sign a deal like that; Ferris has talked about a long-term deal, and if he doesn't get it at a price he wants (think $3.5M at bare minimum), I'd imagine he takes his $2.1M QO and walks to UFA after a year of playing with Monahan and Gaudreau in this scenario.

Really?! I didn't know that at all. I think my thought with the two year deal was that the Flames can look at re signing him the same year Giordano and Gaudreau come off the payroll, would be a complete reassessment of the Flames that year and Anderson can play his way into a big role. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, the number most CBJ fans keep coming back to is a 4x4 deal, which isn't unreasonable (and could even be a bargain) if he's healthy. But if he's playing with such talented offensive forwards, I have to think (agent Darren) Ferris will salivate at the chance to juice his stats for a year and enter UFA.

The longer Marky goes unsigned by VAN the more likely this scenario seems that he ends up in a Flames jersey. I'd love for the Canucks to keep him but if they can't move other bad contracts it likely won't happen and they'll probably end up with a Demko/Talbot tandem or something like it.

Regardless, Markstrom makes this team way scarier to face.

Don't you tease me like that.... He should absolutely be the Flames number one target this offseason. If nothing else happens at least bring in a stabilizing guy between the pipes that plays 55-60 games a year comfortably.
