Pass. Tanev is on a steep decline. He'll be very bad soon. If we want a RHD on UFA it's all about DeMelo.

Detroit and LA have cap space but with twenty teams looking to trim salary, they are selling it to the highest bidder, irrespective of talent. Panik is actually good, but they don't care. So this is true:

Yep.

It's not anything against Panik, who was 5th on the Caps in points/60 this year. But Detroit would rather have the roster space to develop prospects and they'd rather have the cap space to take on bad, expensive players and land high picks.

I’m guessing you didn’t watch Tanev this year?
Statistically he had his best year yet.

Not saying he isn't going to decline, but to say he is “on a steep decline”, is inaccurate.

I'm sure there's a price and term where Tanev could fit with WSH, but I agree 5x5 under a flat cap is not it.
