Depending on how much he wants Detroit there is a good chance they don't sign him. I wouldn't trade for his rights plus if he really wants to play in Detroit that is where he will sign.

Krug is a UFA. There are no signing rights for him. Otherwise this is pretty good. I still wouldn't say Detroit would be contenders, but they'd be on their way.

I’m fine with Krug but I’d say 5 years max. He’s really not a great fit so no point hurting our future when he’ll be out of his prime by the time we’re good again.
