This is a tough one. I like Matt Murray, but he’s going to be a tough contract. I don’t know the other guy, but he doesn’t add value to the trade. He’s an undrafted 7D, and Ottawa has their own guys that can sit in the press box.

Tierney is an important part of the Sens forward group, and having him will take a lot of pressure off Josh Norris and Logan Brown. Tierney might not be here in 2-3 years, but he’s needed now, and will fetch a decent asset today, or in 2-3 years. You have to give to get, but Tierney is needed more right now. Ottawa has traded off their other quality veterans, and Tierney is the quality veteran forward now.

So Ottawa would take Matt Murray, but not in that trade.
