Why in the world would Tampa want Drouin back after that debacle? Tampa has no use for Drouin and i doubt Stamkos wants to leave Tampa for Montreal.

The entire point of moving Stamkos would be to make cap space. Conversation starts with one of Suzuki or Romanov, a player like Danault, and picks. Tampa needs affordable help or moving one of the best scorers in the league doesnt really make sense.

....and the Lightning have more than a couple players that they could sell at a discount (Johnson, Killorn, Palat, Gourde), but Stamkos is not one of them.

I legit think floating Stammers name is just a way of stopping other teams from lowballing them on their other guys. "yes I know I'm up against the the cap but I'm moving Stamkos later so paying you to take Johnson doesn't work for me" or something to that effect. Tampa appearing to have more options allows them to play a little more hardball.
