Description
Detroit get Johnson @3mil and a 3rd for 4years
Ottawa get a 3rd for some cap space they're never going to use. Melnyk doesn't have to pay any actual $$

Also with this weird offseason and all the time away for his family to not play and finally winning a cup, I don't think Coburn comes back, any money say he retires. Convenient I know.

Detroit has no reason to make this trade.

Well they would if there was a decent incentive piece coming back to them from either Tampa or the 3rd team

A 3rd round pick is a non starter. Yzerman doesn't work for Tampa anymore. Why take 4 years of Tyler Johnson?

Oh I know a 3rd isn't enough. Im just stating that I could totally see them retaining on him for certain price

Tampa needs to dump 10 million to keep Sergachev, Cirelli and Cernak. Trading TJ isn't impossible. But you have to make it worth it for Yzerman. Heck even Marc Staal got Detroit a 2nd. And Staal only had a year left on his deal. TJ has 4 years left on his deal. It might be something like TJ plus Cirelli. That seems like alot but I don't see how Brisebois is going to navigate this without eating a warm sandwich.
