Lineup explanation:

Offense

1st line: You don't break this line up. The grit and toughness of Hyman, all-around game from Matthews, and the elite playmaking from Marner. Matthews could easily pot 50, while Marner gets 60-70 assists.

2nd line: This line was dominant throughout the end of December for mid January. Although, Kerfoot and Mikheyev are interchangeable. Both played exceptionally well with Tavares and Nylander.

3rd line: This could be a gritty and tough line. With Kerfoot and Mikheyev being interchangeable, this brings some speed onto that line. Good tough playmaking line.

4th line: This is the "whatever" line. Spezza is a great 4C, and he can set up guys like Vesey and Barabanov.


Defense

1st pairing: This could be a great pairing for the leafs. Rielly just might be the best offensive defenseman in the league, and putting him with a guy like Brodie who has a strong defensive game could do wonders for Mo's game.

2nd pairing: This was the leafs best pairing last season. Muzzin and Holl is a fantastic shutdown pairing and gets the job done. Both solid defensive options.

3rd pairing: This is a very underrated pairing. Dermott is a solid two-way defender who can play both the left and right side. Bogosian is a good physical presence who was solid in the playoffs, and provides everything the leafs need.

Goalies

I think Andersen might just have his best season yet. He has a solid backup in Campbell who can play games against any team and give Andersen some rest. This time, Freddy has a good backup for a full season.

Excited to see this team play this year. I have a good feeling.
