I think it's too soon to give up on him. If the reports are true, then I absolutely agree it's not okay what he did, but he's still a young guy. I also read somewhere (I can't remember where) that he let teams know about that before the draft ... I'm not sure if that's true or not, but if it is, that is definitely a good sign that would show he's aware that what he did was wrong.

At 14 years old, you know bullying a mentally challenged kid and racially taunting him is wrong. He's not 6 or 7. He's 14. The bullying continued after he was punished. He may have admitted wrongdoing to NHL clubs but he never apologized to the kid he bullied. I doubt he cares about the emotional impact he caused for others, he admits wrongdoing because he now realized this was going to impact his future.

He doesn't deserve a sniff at the NHL. Hope he likes selling used cars, cause that's where he's headed in life.

First of all, my comment was before more of the details came out. Second of all, I think it's unfair to completely give up on him. I don't know him as a person, so I can't say, but I do believe that people can change and while I don't think anyone's going to sign him anytime this year or anything, I do believe he deserves a second chance at some point, if he does the right things from now on.

Either way, this team has no clue what they're doing. They should have tried to find out more details before drafting him and then releasing him. They didn't even have a pick in the first 3 rounds and they only have one in the first 3 rounds next year. John Chayka probably wouldn't have left if they hadn't forfeited those picks. Idk what's wrong with the management in Arizona, but something definitely is wrong with the management.

It's not fair to give him a second chance when he's been completely unremorseful for his actions. He's not the victim here. The kid he bullied is the victim. He deserves to have his draft rights ripped up by the Coyotes. He also recently just lost his scholarship at the University of North Dakota. The Sarnia Sting who hold his CHL rights have also said they will not sign him. His hockey career is basically over. And nobody will miss him.
