Description
Yes, the infamous OS.. Although we rarely hear about them.. it doesn't mean they aren't offered and not signed. I would have to think most players wait it out to try and stay with their original teams. In this case however, I see Pulock with arb rights and likely to get a good settlement, 4 RFA all with arb rights the following year. I see it highly unlikely that NYI can make the moves to create the space and match this OS to Barzal without damaging the team too much and putting them in handcuffs the following year. This is an OS that should happen even if they match. Money talks, Barzal signs

I know I only have 20 guys on the opening roster but there is also room to add 2 more guys from the minors. Also I would anticipate the NHL coming to some form of extended roster agreement with Covid in mind.

Also I have moved Laffy to the RW to give him better puck protection. On a line with Bread and Barzal that would balanced with 3 play makers that can all score at an elite level

Kakko has impressed me more with his passing then his shooting; setting up Zibby around the net and sending Kreids on his long breaks will really work out for him IMO

Thanks for emphasizing a constructive approach 👍

Overall pretty nifty and well observed with KK there

I love that it lets Panarin return to the Ovechkin role he had in SKA (so, so much effort carrying the Strome/Fast line ugh) but maybe Kreider <-> Laffy?

Any plans for the remaining cap space perhaps?

One more LD ideal I'm not a fan of either Lind/Bitt

While Lindgren won't be seeing a large contract anytime soon he has played well and his best play was beside Fox. I personally would like to see 1 more year to see if he can improve or if he was just a nice and unexpected 1 year guy. I see him as a 5/6 guy longterm. I think keeping Lind/Bitt/JJ there till there's only 41 games left in the season and then bringing up Miller would be the best way to go so we don't end up in some type of log jam there. But that's just my opinion. Kreids is all Break out speed and tip ins and I feel that Laf will be better with back hand pass/shot. Allowing Laf to protect the puck more should help his success in my mind. But Kreids has been RW before so there is flexibility.

Ah yes, right after getting Barzal signed to an offersheet, the islanders would love to help their crosstown rivals with their cap problems! Also isles match anyway

Well $3.95 mil of that has to go towards the bonuses that need to be paid out?

I doubt they match that kinda offer.

Regardless there's a reason why offersheets don't happen, and they never happen this late in the off-season. Barzal isn't worth that contract or 4 1st round picks anyways so don't worry too much
