This is a robbery. Helm and Dekeyser are not great players whereas, with Cirelli, he’s greatness in the making. Trust me, I don’t think Deteoit would want McDonagh especially if they have prospects coming in within the next couple of years or so. McDonagh and Johnson both have full NTCs, and I don't think they would waive to go to an abysmal Wings squad from last year.

The bolts decline plus McDonagh has a full NTC and Cirelli would never be the sweetener to move Johnson

So Tampa gets 2 downgrades to save a few million. They also give up their 2nd line center that is probably a future Selke winner. And finally, they give up 2 picks for one pick while giving up the best pick. Seems like a big win doesn't it?.......................for Detroit
