Description
This is IDEAL:

1) LW Andrew Ladd follows Boychuk to the LTIR because of his knees, essentially ending his NHL playing career
2) Islanders trade Bellows (who Minnesota had interest in last season for obvious reasons) along with Ho-Sang for a 2021 third and 2022 fifth round pick
3) Spin the 3rd round pick along with Dal Colle (reunited with his old coach) to Ottawa to get them to take the final two years on Hickey's deal
4) Bridge contract for C Barzal, 3 years @ 7.25 million, making him highest paid player on the team
5) Re-sign (rumored to have been agreed on) D Andy Greene to 1-year $1.25 million contract
6) Re-sign (same) LW Matt Martin to 2-year $2 million contract
7) Sign UFA (same) G Cory Schneider to 1-year contract
8) Sign UFA G Andrew Hammond to the same 1-year contract
9) Re-sign RW Tom Kuhnackl to a 1-year $825,000 contract
10) Sign UFA RW Mike Hoffman to a 1-year $5.5 million contract (goes to top line and Bailey moves back to LW on second line where Eberle drops to second)
11) Sign UFA C Carl Soderberg to a 1-year $1.075 million contract (as insurance to Cizikas)
12) Sign UFA RD Ron Hansey to a 1-year $950,000 contract (veteran insurance to protect Dobson, Aho and Hutton)
13) Wahlstrom makes the team on third line with JPG and Beauvillier

  1. 2021 3rd round pick (MIN)
  2. 2022 5th round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Lou kicks the tires again on the failed Parise/Ladd deal from the previous deadline and instead makes a lesser move, sending Bellows and Ho-Sang to Minnesota for one of the Wild's two third round picks in this year's draft and one of their two fifth rounders in the following one
MIN
  1. Bellows, Kieffer
  2. Ho-Sang, Joshua
Additional Details:
The talented yet troubled Ho-Sang gets a fresh start, but Guerin ultimately makes the deal for Keiffer, son of North Star legend Brian Bellows...
2.
NYI
Lou immediately spins that third round pick he just acquired along with Dal Colle to Ottawa to get them to take on the final two years of Hickey's deal...
    OTT
    1. Dal Colle, Michael
    2. Hickey, Thomas
    3. 2021 3rd round pick (MIN)
    Additional Details:
Hickey is only owed 3.75 million in cash over the next two years and when healthy can still be a serviceable third line defender. If not, the Senators can bury him for a 1.4 million cap hit in 2021 and then buy him out after for a modest .833 cap hit over two seasons

Man, like you said this would be the IDEAL scenario for this team and all depends on Ladd going on LTIR, but if this were to happen the Isles would be a scary team in the east for sure.

    Great job!

Wild aren't really in the market for wings, they were just looking to move Parise. If Parise isn't going to NY then Wild aren't taking Bellows.

In Ottawa, Hainsey is gone, as is the much improved Borowiecki. In their place are Erik Gudbranson, Mike Reilly, and Josh Brown.

Gudbranson, played 7 games and healthy scratched 4 times for Pittsburgh, played all 44 games he was healthy for in Anaheim
Brown, played 56 games and was healthy scratched 13 times for Florida
Reilly, played 14 games and was healthy scratched 27 times for Montreal, before being traded to Ottawa

Maybe adding Hickey, and his concussions, to this group isn't a good idea.

    I fixed your quote.

"If not, the Islanders can bury him for a 1.4 million cap hit in 2021 and then buy him out after for a modest .833 cap hit over two seasons"
