This is Part 1 [2020-2021] of my 2 year Penguin's Plan

IMO, This would be a near Perfect Roster for the PENS to have a "REAL / LEGIT" chance at a CUP run w/ the {87 / 71 / 58 CORE} for the next [2] Seasons. (Instead of the fringe playoff team Roster we have now)

FORWARDS :
- Line 1A ------ 59 ~ 87 ~ 42 ------ Everyone knows that Sid & Jake will be together & I am in the minority but I loved the Kappy Trade & think this line could be Scary good.
- Line 1B ------ 67 ~ 71 ~ 64 ------ A 2nd line that would be a 1st line for about 30 other NHL teams would work for me w/ 2 of my fav wingers w/ Geno in Granlund & Rakell
- Line 3A ------ 19 ~ 88 ~ 17 ------ 2- Top 6 Wingers in McCann & Rusty w/ a young 3C in Gaudette, as a 3rd line Yes Please.
- Line 3B ------ 29 ~ 53 ~ 13 ------ Blueger & Turbo are Perfect 4th liners, PLUS the addition of a non-stop skating & hitting [29-Carrier] would make a better 4th line.
** {All 3 of the Top lines OR Top 9 Wingers could be mixed OR changed in a number of ways} **

- H/S Forwards ------ 14 -Janko & 37-Laffy would be ideal back-ups being able to both play C & both Wings
- 1st Call Ups -------- 21-Poulin / 57- Angello / __- Gaudreau / __- Ritchie / __- O'Conner / 47- Baertschi

DEFENSE :
- Pairing #1 ------ 8 ~ 58 ------ Dumo & Letang are Still 1 of the best Top pairings in the NHL
- Pairing #2 ------ 28 ~ 6 ------ Both of Marino & Pettersson keep getting better, love this 2nd pairing
- Pairing #3 ------ 5 ~ 4 ------ This will be 1 of the best 3rd pairings in the NHL, Loved the Mathy trade & think Ceci will be solid.

- H/S D-man ------ 2-Ruhwedel ---- The best #7 in NHL
- 1st Call Ups ------ 7-Dahlstrom / __-Trotman / 73-P.O. Joseph / __-Maniscalco

Goalie :
- #1A ------ 35- Jarry ------ IMO, Jarry will turn into a Top 10 NHL Goalie
- #1B ------ 31- Hill ------ This kid is a legit future #1 & would be a great 1B to Jarry for next cpl yrs.
- #3 ------ 34 - Howard ------ If Teams will be keeping [3] Goalies, he could help both Jarry & Hill as a a vet.
- #3 ------ 32- Stolarz ------ If given a chance I think Stolarz could be a solid #2 but would be a great #3.

why wouldn't VAN just trade the 1st for Rakell?

I think you put way to much faith in that 3rd pairing. Ceci is a tire fire waiting to has gas dumped all over it and Matheson needs someone who can play well to help him bounce back. Ceci paired with him, is almost assured to sink him. Which is why Ceci and Ruhwedel need to both sit down and let Maniscalco

Rakell is gonna cost a solid amount more, but like the thought you put into all this

Ducks decline they don’t need a LHD at all, especially as a main part of the return for Rakell

Canucks don't need to make that trade they could just sign RNH or Schwartz in the offseason
