If Ladd was to be put on LTIR, wouldn’t NYI just simply... do that?

Isles deal makes sense. The VGK deal needs way more.

Well, this would get us out of his contract a lot faster. Plus, even though LTIR seems simple as a fan, supposedly it's very complicated for teams.

That being said, I don't want to give up a 1st and 2nd for getting rid of Ladd when now we don't have to with Boychuk going on LTIR. If you change the 2nd to a B-prospect, I would do it.

I think there are a couple of reasons...not saying right or wrong though. Keeping Debrincat with Strome could potentially be big. Debrincat's proven that he can score on the 3rd line. That in theory is a good thing. Keeping him with Strome has statistically proven to be beneficial for both players...another thing in theory which should be good. Then the question is...how to the rest of the lines pan out. Dach on the 3rd line? maybe. Kane on the 3rd line. Not a fan of that.

Also, I'm a big fan of the Pius Suter signing. I want to give him a shot with Kubalik together on the same line. They're very different players, but neither are afraid of going to the dirty areas. What I'm NOT saying is he guaranteed to excel that high up...rather just that I'd like to see it for a few games. So there could be a number of Hawks fans (like me) that would like to see him be placed on a "top 6" line, but still think Debrincat is awesome.
