Description
Hmmm. Funny how teams like Tampa and Chicago seem to get away with this consistently, but LA is slapped with a cap hit until 2031... What other cap circumvention events did I miss?

Yeah, I'm bitter, I get it.

Also, any Lightning fans that come in here saying "Why would we want to lose one of our best players?" ...... You just skated to a Cup missing one of your best players the entire time except for 2 minutes. Let's not pretend that Tampa's going to have a difficult time smashing the division that conveniently just got announced yesterday, even without Kucherov.

Playing Detroit 8 times certainly helps. Maybe Kucherov pulls a Patty Kane and miraculously heals up for game 1 of the playoffs when the Salary Cap doesn't exist?

I'd be willing to put down a significant chunk of change that's exactly what happens.

That would be ideal, but Kucherov being down affects every aspect of the offensive ability of Tampa. If Stamkos has another rehab issue or something new happens (which always does) then we're effectively screwed at RW.

I just find it odd that we're hearing about Kucherov's injury now. I never heard a peep all off season about it.

We haven't heard anything about injuries other than Stamkos' until now, and there were a lot of sub 100% guys at the end of the SCF.
