Description
Savard probably gets traded out and he's gone.
In comes Cole and I think it's a great move for CBJ.
Domi is out. He goes to seattle after CBJ does not protect him. It just didn't work out here.
Nyquist is the odd man out. There just isn't room, and they move that contract to BUF who will need a winger when Hall leaves.

There is plenty of cap space on this team to work out contracts in the next year or two.

Trades
1.
CBJ
  1. Hållander, Filip
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
TOR needs a goalie CBJ has one to move on a low cap hit.
It works out for both teams. There are other possibilities here like EDM. Which drives costs upward.
2.
CBJ
The Domi experiment does not go well.
He ends up going to Seattle in the Expansion Draft.
Seattle will need Centers Domi has one year left to see if it works. CBJ was just a bad fit. MTL won this trade.
    3.
    CBJ
    1. 2021 2nd round pick (BUF)
    Additional Details:
I'm going to peg him to two teams. EDM and BUF.
EDM sends Neal to Seattle to open up cap space
BUF Hall leaves. They need a winger who can score.
The price is right and they make a deal.

Oh I'm sure Texier and Laine would stay on the phone about 1/2 a second with those offers

Ok. I really like Hållander as a prospect. But I think that deal falls just short of landng Korpisalo.

Pundits think Hållander rounds out as a great 3rd line player (à la Johnsson 2.0). The odds.of a 2nd rounder playing NHL minutes are below 10%.

We can make an arguement that Korpisalo is a #1 tender. Even if he plays 50 games, and assuming hid numbers remain consistent, I have to think this is missing some window dressing.....

Thing is goalies don't retain value. I think it's an OK deal. They aren't gonna get more than a pick and prospect as any roster player off some of these teams would be a bottom line player who probably doesn't have a chance of making CBJ

Tex doesn't have a lot of room to negotiate and that's that. This is his 1st season. So it's hard to judge this, as we don't know what his point total is going to look like. I pegged him at about a 20 goal guy. Which I think is fair. We'll see.

As for Laine, He'll probably sign a bridge. That number depends on performance. It's not a small number. Even if you add 1 mil, They got PLENTY of cap space. So I don't know why you get hung up on it.
If he was signing a long term deal it would be a different story. But he's not. Don't look for Jarmo to negotiate like Dubas.

I doubt Hall leaves tbh, Sabres can still offer him similar amount of money and the cap will still be handicapped so long term deals still wont be that common
