I understand what you are saying and I agree with you.
My though is if we get someone who’s soul purpose is to hit and be big then we are taking a spot away from a skilled player.

Once again I agree with your thinking and it’s possible the Sakic makes a deadline deal, but time will tell.

i kinda have two lanes of thinking here.
1. Get a sizeable 3C. not necessarily to fight but someone who plays solid 2 way hockey and finishes checks. Having someone like that with nichuskin would be a solid d line but that would also be expensive to pursue and you don't really want to let someone like that walk after half a season.
2. the 4th line option like bordy. i get what you're saying about the skill player but with 6 mins of ice time they're not even in the game. Like kaut played the other game and played 5:50 how is he supposed to make any impact with that ice time. Plus the guys we see brought up O'connor, Dries & Sherwood are these aren't the most skilled guys to begin with.

nothing bc he has a history of injuring avs players with late cheap hits,
