Fun Fact 4 U: The pick in the original Spezza to Dallas trade was their 2015 2nd. During the draft, Ottawa traded up to acquire a player named Gabriel Gagne. They sent the New Jersey Devils that 2nd they got, along with a 3rd to do so. The Devils picked MacKenzie Blackwood with the 2nd, and Joey Anderson with the 3rd.

It is and overpay. But an overpay would be required to get him out of Ottawa while he still has a season and half on that contract. I've been a Nick Paul fan since his 24 games stint in 15-16. Made me crazy that they refused to give him another shot after that season. Either way, I'd be happy to see Ottawa turn down that offer but I'd also understand them taking it. He's a solid middle 6 winger and is over 50% in FOW too.
