Deep down, I know Bennett has the toolset and elements to be a successful player, and if there is a project the Leafs want to manage, Sam Bennett should be that player to work with

I disagree with the toolset part. He pretty much is what he is, I don’t think he has any elite skills, but he’s a hard worker and a spark plug type guy (same deal as Hyman). If the leafs wanna look at him I think it should be because they need that type of player for the playoffs, not take him in as a reclamation project.

There is a reason why he has never played any special teams, he lacks higher end hockey iq to process the game to be effective .
