I actually really like the forward lines a d-pairings. Not exactly sold on Murray. I don't think he's a great player, but I guess it depends on what options there are in free agency.

A 1st and Bear for Korpisalo seems pretty steep. I'm not 100% sure if i'd do either of those pieces alone for Korpisalo. I like him as a goalie, but he's not a legitimate starter. Its an upgrade over Smith, but we still don't have that 1A starter

I have to disagree, I feel like Korpisalo is not playing to his full extent, when I see him play, even just his positioning and stance I see shades of Tuukka, he could very well be elite with a different system. A team like the Oilers who spend more time transitioning to the offensive zone than in their own end might unlock it for him. Yes there’s time we let 40+ shots in, but on the team’s A game it’s the other way around. BUT yeah wouldn’t trade Bear and a first.

In the past 10 years can you name the goalies that went for a 1st round pick? I can and there is only 1. He went twice for a 1st and he is way way way better than Korpi. That is a extreme over payment.

Yea I agree completely. Like I said, I do really like him as a goalie. In fact I've been more or less following his play since he shutout the Oilers like 5 years ago with like 40 saves. Theres no doubt he shows flashes of being a legit starter. I just don't think he's been the #1 guy for an extended look while still playing like one.

I would for sure be interested in trading for him, as I do believe he'd have a real chance to be the guy here, but the price proposed above is preposterous for a 1B (at this point in his career). Having said that, while a Korp-Koksi duo would be an upgrade over Koski-Smith (yea smith has been lights out in his two games, but he's 38 and isn't a reliable guy in the future), I think we need to cut the BS at this point in 97s career. Next season will be his 7th, and at that point it needs to be all in. A big part of the Chicago and Pittsburgh dynasty's were reliable goaltending. Holland needs to get a legitimate #1 guy. If he tries absolutely everything and cant succeed, I would be fine with Korpisalo as a plan B.
