Description
This team has been mediocre ever since the 2010 cup run, and after getting something to look forward to after last season, the team is back in their old ways. I think a few things need to be addressed to (hopefully) make this team competitive again.

1. Need to solidify the defence - this comes to no surprise as they've been a BIG reason for the team's woes this season.
2. Need to add grit - I was never a guy who thought adding tough guys to the team would really make a difference, and that the game has evolved into more speed and skill. That, however, doesn't seem to be my thinking anymore, when you have a kid with a history of migraine issues, and another kid who fought for his life last year sticking up for the team (what a joke lol).
3. New leadership - I've never have been or never will be on the team that says Giroux should be traded, however, I think his role on the team should change this offseason. Give Couturier (our best player) the captaincy, and let Giroux act as a veteran role player with the A. When both their contracts are up next year, Coots will get the cap hit that Giroux has now, and we will see what G expects in terms of cash, as I think he rides it out here til the end (we hope).

Vegas isn’t trading reaves, and why would LA do that? Get a developed offensive defenceman who is terrible in his own zone to block out prospects, and they give up a pick? No. I think Hamilton stays in CAR. Also, I think Seattle would have better options in their draft. I don’t think they’re gonna take his contract when they can get better value elsewhere. I don’t mind the ekholm trade tho...

That won't cut it. Big demand for Ekholm. Start with 2021 1st and then York and Frost. If it's not Philly it will be someone else with a similar offer if they don't have the stomach for it.

LA has been linked to Ghost in the past, not sure what they would give in return though. I think they wanted him to strictly play a OFD role and QB their PP. Hamilton is just a wish, no clue what he'll do so we will see. And if Philly is serious about some changes, they protect guys like Lindblom and Patrick and expose JvR and Voracek, who are good players, but yes, have bigger cap hits. I think Seattle would take one, because they're not gonna build their whole team on cheap 3rd/4th line players who aren't protected - they need talent too!

York AND Frost with a 1st is not what it will take for Ekholm - it will be similar to the Muzzin trade which was a 1st and two B-prospects. York and Frost are both A-prospects, but if demand makes it that price, I would definitely pass and laugh at the team giving up all that value.
