Description
Similar offer & benefits to earlier offer to NJ. EDM is in bad need of D depth, Dallas could use a 2-way player like Pouliot, & the other pieces are required to make the deal work. Both teams could benefit from the deal. Thoughts?

Eakin fell off the map this year, yes he got hurt. Going into the season I was figuring a 20/20 season for him.

He certainly leans more to D than he does support the offensive side. He's a big body, tough to gain position on, definitely has a physical net presence. Former 2nd round pick, has NHL experience, and is currently the odd man out of Dallas's 9 man rotation..which is not due to performance as much as it is numbers. Given the right role, he can help.

Agreed, he's struggled to find his game so far since coming back from injury. Originally slotted as a 3rd line center, he's had some good seasons, very much a utility player that can play in a lot of situations. With the emergence of Faksa, Janmark, Shore and others on the way like Dickinson, Eakin could be a moveable and valuable asset that teams needing depth up the middle could use. On paper this deal looks like it could benefit both teams.
