Description

As mentioned the NYI trade came from another NYI fan @Chris1022. I know Komarov and Hickey each have another year remaining ($5.5M combined) but that 2022 1st rounder makes it worthwhile I think. That 2022 draft is deep and we've got 5 picks in the first two rounds, 7 in the first three.
Pittsburgh is looking for a pivot and Tierney would help them a great deal in the playoffs.
A 3rd for Dzingel is fine by me and his speed will fit well with Winnipeg. .

the isles would never do that. Komarov and hickey have buyout friendly contracts and have one year left on their deals. Gudbrandson and anisimov are fringe NHLers

Ottawa pulls the trigger on the Islanders trade if there's less retention on one of Anisimov or Gudbranson.

I'm hoping Ottawa gets a second for Dzingel or that we re-sign him.

I'm cool with the Pittsburgh trade

Pens pass. Tierney hasn’t been great on FO’s this year, not good possession numbers either. And doesn’t provide enough offense to make up for it. Also doesn’t hit often enough for Burke and Hexy.

Tierney isn't going to go for anywhere near a 2nd round pick. He's not very good and there are better options if that is what a team is giving up.
