Description
The Jets could be one of few teams to have some legit cap space this off-season… I wouldn’t mind seeing them taking a stab bar Hyman.

More than anything, they need a coaching change. This lineup doesn’t work without a coaching change. Paul Maurice’s system doesn’t lend itself to a team that’s heavy, hard on the forecheck, and plays with pace, like this team would.

I’d look at either Gallant or Julien… either one of those guys would be a massive improvement.

This also leaves them plenty of space to add a piece or two at the deadline… and helps with flexibility on PLD’s negotiations in a year’s time.

Tough to lose Copp… but the Jets are deep on LHF, and he’s most certainly due for a substantial raise…we all know how his contract negotiations went last time.

Niku Vesalalainen Copp all gone for very little all told

Copp is better and younger than Hyman no less

Why not just allocate that money for him

Initial creation date of this team was 2 months ago, was trying to figure out how you had Lowery for less than his extension

I’m not sure Copp is better than Hyman… they’re definitely comparable… but someone has to go to Seattle.

The other option would be using one of Niku/Vesalainen in a deal to protect Copp from Seattle. My concern was mostly about Andrew Copp’s contract negotiations, given what happened last time… but you make a really good point.

Yeah. I started this a long time ago, and completely forgot about it.

While I can see Vesalainen being moved as he's just not getting much of an opportunity with the Jets, and while adding a rugged d-man would be alright in my books, I just don't like the Vesalainen for Gudas move. Now, maybe package Vesalainen and/or Copp and/or Niku for a package that gets the Jets Mackenzie Weegar (plus) out of Florida, and now there's a return that would get me excited for next season!
