Description
Pre-expansion move with the Coyotes works tremendously well for both clubs. Seattle is left with virtually nothing to pick from on the Oilers roster, so I've used Kahun as a placeholder. The other options are Kassian, Khaira, or Koskinen. Kahun makes the most sense in my eyes.

Benson's effectively run out of track in Edmonton, but he's been otherwise dominant in the AHL. New Jersey is a team that should very happily capitalize on his services for the mere ask of a 3rd this year and nullifying the conditions on the pick used to obtain Kulikov.

The Vancouver trade seems a bit strange at first, but this roster setup had nearly $7M in cap space. In my eyes, the options are a 1 year deal for a quality player or something like this, as the more money that's available next year, the easier navigating that offseason becomes. Picking up an extra 1st in a deep draft to deal with $5M of Eriksson for a year is a steal. So long as Holland actually does something with that available space, I'm here for it. Walking into next year with nearly $7M in capital would be absurd.

Obligatory Stalock to TBL trade because he's dirt cheap.

There's improvement to the forward depth, strength of the back end, and an improvement in net that should maintain this year's form. Second in the Pacific with nowhere to go but up I reckon.

So we draft benson high in the second round spend a few years developing then once he proves dominate in the ahl we trade him for our own 3rd rounder back while being a team that’s weak on LW? Personally I think it makes a lot more sense to give the home town boy a fair opportunity to crack this line up....

Over who?

He's 5 years removed from his draft year and still hasn't shown anything for it. You don't get equivalent value for a player that doesn't make it. It's nobody's fault either, injuries absolutely had an impact on his trajectory. He's not worth a 2nd round pick though, and Holloway is higher on everyone's list.

Given that he wouldn't make it through waivers, getting a 3rd out of him at this point is fine.

I think this is actually Chiarelli... or a great impressin of him

Giving up on benson is stupid at this point high skilled player who should be given a shot. more so than marody. but hey lets give away talent just like chiarelli
The ARZ trade is atrocious to give up a first... id rather just let seattle pick him than that trade
ANd VAN yes lets buy out an anchor then trade for a new one.............
its not rebuild time for picks its time to keep talent
