Description

Not sure where the cap ends up after this year. But I have to admit I really like the makeup of this team as it currently stands. I think Ceci fits in well. Bring up POJ in offseason. Petterson goes to Seattle (though I could also see Zucker going to clear more cap space). But in Petterson we have a replacement in the wings.
I really like what we've seen from Zohorna in limited doses. He improves and can add more.

you really think someone is gonna throw 4 mill at him with a lot of teams being cap strapped? no doubt if something like that comes up he's taking it but i don't see it happening

the league is strapped for defense.
He's had a good year.
Jack Johnson got a contract this summer. That should tell you how much of a black hole there is in the NHL for defensemen.
He's gonna get paid.

Yeah I think all you have to do is look at Justin Schultz. Struggled prior to the Pens, played well with the Pens, got a decent contract with Washington and has continued to play well. Teams will look at that and the risk won't seem as high on Ceci as it was going into this season. He could probably get $3M from another team, but maybe he signs at $2-2.5M with the success he's had.
