16 forwards, 8 defencemen, 3 goaltenders to start the tournament. Assuming that Montreal clinches a playoff spot and the initial rosters will be comprised of non-playoff teams. Non-NHL players/prospects from playoff teams were disregarded.
I think Hockey Canada is primed to get in its own way here by bringing names like Benn, Burns, and Keith over other options, which likely hampers Team Canada's ability to be a true gold-medal write-in. I think the Americans have access to a much stronger group of forwards and better goaltenders, but I objectively think the Canadians have the better collection of defensemen.
I suspect this is a silver medal team save for an upset either way.
