Description
Not overly concerned with the realism of the trade, add picks and prospects to the trade until it's fair value in your mind. I'm just curious to see if the cap can work. Assuming the Bruins can dump the cap of Wagner and Moore going back the other way, it looks like technically you could fit him under the cap. Still enough left over to sign a 4th liner.

They will lose Ritchie or Lauzon to Seattle.

Just dont' re-sign Tuukka.

Forgot to mention Seattle. This assumes the trade takes place before the expansion draft, in which case the Bruins protect the top line, Smith, Coyle, Eichel, Ritchie on F, and Mcavoy, Gryz, and Lauzon on D. They'd probably select Frederic or Clifton in that scenario, I'm guessing.

I don't think the Sabres would keep him in the division unless the offer blew them away. Boston doesn't have the pieces to blow them away.
Remember a quality over quantity approach to this trade as that's what the Sabres have said they would need.
A "swap of stars" is possible but not a picks and prospects type trade when Boston's picks and prospects aren't top tier.
That being said you're probably looking at Eichel for Pasta being the only option and I don't think Boston wants to do that.
Just not good trade partners at the end of the day.

Yeah I more or less agree (unfortunately), I was just curious to see if it was feasible numbers-wise in the first place.

Sure they do but his health is such a major concern do they want to take on a 10m per with a career threatening injury?
