Description
There seems to be a lack of knowledge as to whether Crawford has a full NMC or a M-NTC NMC. Lets say its the latter and Calgary isn't on his no trade list.

I would rather keep Crawford but this is jsut an idea. Darling has shown he can be a #1 goalie.

The Hawks get a good LW prospect that is about NHL ready. They get a possible backup, or they can sign a UFA as backup.
Calgary gets the goalie they have been waiting for.

Maybe no Western Conference team helps the Hawks with cap problems. Flames keep their assets and sign Darling for 3m.

Okay so he goes to Philly, or NYI, or Carolina, the idea is still the same.

These aren't bad ideas. I don't think the Blackhawks deal Crawford unless they really get stuck with Kruger and can't unload him somewhere with a prospect or draft pick. Their model of Crawford as starter plus a cheap journeyman backup has worked pretty well. For Vegas to field a competitive team in their first season, which they'll want to do, they'll need NHL ready players. I think they'll take Kruger over TVR or Pokka if those are the options because, even if his contract is a little big, they also have to make the cap floor.

I don't disagree but i'm not sure unloading only Kruger will still allow the Hawks to field a competitive team next year.

If the Flames really think the missing piece is still just a goalie, they might make this deal. Kings and Hawks did a trade last year, Ducks traded with the year before because they all wanted to improve and those teams are much more 'enemies' than the Flames are.
