Description
Buffalo fans, let me know if this is a reasonable trade. I'm trying to see if there's a package the Kings could put together without one of the big 3 (Byfield/Turcotte/Vilardi).

The idea here is that it gives Buffalo a top-6 player immediately, and another two top-6'rs within 2 years, at the cost of the one better player in the trade. Iafallo also comes with cost certainty, being signed for the next 4 years.
Trades
LAK
  1. Reinhart, Sam
Additional Details:
LA gets Reinhart as a versatile top-6 guy that starts at 2C for the year as Vilardi and Byfield come up to speed. He then transitions over to RW to give Kopitar a scoring threat on his line. Reinhart grows with the kids and gives LA that 25-27 year old player to bridge the gap between the kids and vets.
BUF
  1. Fagemo, Samuel
  2. Iafallo, Alex
  3. 2021 1st round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
Buff gets #8 OA, a winger with top-6 upside, and a winger that has played on the top line with Kopitar his entire career. Young, from the New York area, and shows continued improvement every year, he's a legit NHL'r to help your roster immediately while Fagemo and the #8 take 1 and two years respectively as you guys retool or rebuild.

Change Iafello to Kaliyev, and maybe a second with something else added from Buffalo imo. If you don’t want to add one of Big 3 I get it, but imo the value would need to exceed what they would be because the lottery tickets are that much further from helping Buf. Could be way off on my evaluation, but it’s what I would ask

tell you what, you can have monahan for that and we'll even throw in kylington. monahan has notably played centre his entire career so will handle the 2C hole nicely, and has outproduced reinhart every year up until this one, where he played through a hip injury and reinhart shot 41% above his career average

Realistically though, the kings would be nuts to offer this, reinhart is not a superstar, his career high is 65 points

Kings pass, top-10 pick, Iafallo, and ****emo is too much for my taste. If the Kings are in need of a 20-30 goal scorer they can go to the free agency with their 14M in cap space. That pick could be their potential top LD, Iafallo signed a team friendly deal, and ****emo has the ability to be a top-6 winger on the cusp. Also, this trade might take them out of any Eichel talks they are having, which is the better prize.

Kaliyev and a 2nd would be more interesting and probably more realistic. No chance LA trades Iafallo after just resigning him, that's not a good policy. The fact that Reinhart has proven he can be a top line winger or center means he should be able to command a blue chip prospect and perhaps even more.

I have absolutely no desire for Eichel. The further we are from those talks the better. With the more unbiased fan chiming in as an overpay, my thoughts were to overpay a bit to not have Kaliyev included.

Monahan doesn't interest me. The reason I like Reinhart is because he's a natural winger. The long-term goal would be to run Reinhart/Kaliyev on the right side for Byfield/Vilardi as 1C/2C. But thank you for chiming in onthe value. It's nice to have an unbiased view.
