Description
Since the sharks can't do a complete rebuild I think they are in a good position to improve their draft stock by weaponizing their short term cap space.

The exact draft choices aren't that important this is just an exercise of how to fit it under the cap.

The labanc trade might be hard to pull off, but he is still young and can be a 40-50 pt player. Plus Dorian said in his exit interview that he will be considering trading futures for help right now. Logan Brown seems to not be in their plans and the sharks need young centers so I think there is a fit. the 4.7 mil cap hit is a lot but I can't see how it would interfere with Ottawa signing any of their young stars given how much cap they have.

1. Good luck getting Driedger for that price
2. As if he wouldn't be starting over the tire fire that is Martin Jones
3. I think you're giving up on Labanc too early in the contract, but if that's the deal Ottawa takes it.
4. I do agree that it would be prudent for the Sharks to at least try and do a quick retool, since they have a 3-4 year window before buyouts or trades become more realistic and therefore a rebuild would start. It'll be interesting to see what they can pull off.

Tampa declines, And Driedger gets at least 2 x $3,500,000 not that low ball offer.

Like I said the actual picks aren't what's important, Tampa doesn't have any 2nds so it got bumped up to a 1st. To counter Driedger is 27 and has played 38 nhl games. We won't know until he signs but to make it fit he could be reploaced by a guy like hutton, halak, brossoit etc
