It’s not a matter of that, some of these moves could be very helpful, but that cap has me very reserved in how aggressive I want this team to be. I’m honestly fine with taking the time to develop the kids properly to build a long term contender for sustained success, but that’s just me.

Seeing that there's $24M in cap for 2022 that probably gets you Zibanejad, Fox, and Hertl but it also means no more Kakko. This would definitely be an overkill in that retrospect, but if you remove the Washington trade the cap should work fine
