How did you get Tyler Johnson's negotiation rights? He's an RFA, you can't just sign an RFA without giving up picks for him in compensation, and even then you would probably have to pay him more than 4.75 to really snag him without Tampa matching it.

johnsons's an RFA and likely will get closer to 6 mil. plus, why does pit even need him?

Tampa has 60.5 mill committed to the cap next year with Drouin, Johnson, Palat, Nesterov, and Sustr needing deals. Assuming they match the 4.75 million that leaves Tampa with approximately 9.5 million in space for 7 roster spots including those RFAs.

RFA compensation would be Pittsburgh's 2018 1st and 3rd draft choices which they still hold the rights to.

Its all kind of a moot point because its likely Johnson is traded before July 1st

Still a real big assumption that the Canes (or any team) would take Fleury. Even if you found a team, likely money would be coming back to the Pens. Why is Fehr so "not valuable" to the Pens but somehow he is traded to every other team? Makes the cap situation to sign Johnson unlikely.
