Description
channeling my inner lou lamoriello, including an introduction to Robidas Island's newest member!

some notes:
-Ladd to LTIR. Lou will figure it out.
-Greene's cap hit is $3M to account for the extra $2M in bonus money that's on the cap no matter what next year (couldn't tell if calculated in already!)
-Heard a few folks mention a long term/low hit deal for Casey so gonna go with 6/$15 for him

Koivula won't get $1.25M. He will get the league min. Think Dal Colle will get in the range of $850K as well. I think with the cap issues tight, you may have to count on Hickey to play for us next year unfortunately. Still would hope Lou can get rid of Komarov somehow. That might help us re-sign palimeri or Defenseman.
Greene won't get 3M. I know we owe him I think1.3M from his 2M bonus. So I would say in total $2M for him next year.

Winnipeg says no thanks, they already have a Log Jam on their Left Side for D, they need a Right D man who has offensive upside....

-realized i overshot on Koivula after the fact but assume whatever they save on him would probably go to one of the Beauvillier/Sorokin/Pelech trio, so probably a wash?

-i had read it was a $2M bonus for Greene on next year's cap which is why I built him up to $3M; I'd assume he'll probably carry a salary around $1M so if it's only $1.3 on next year's cap, knock him down to $2.3M overall

-it was tough watching winnipeg games and getting to know their team this year, so based it off their depth charts - i know their left-side guys in the Montreal series were Morrissey-Forbort-Stanley and that Forbort is UFA, so figured they'd have a need there perhaps. i'll take a winnipeg fan's take on their depth over mine tho!

The Winnipeg trade is interesting. The Jets need 1 or two top 4 D. Leddy checks that box. But as KDow points out, Winnipeg would prefer a RD, as they have 3 strong LD prospects. That said, I wouldn’t rule out the Jets acquiring a top 4 LD. It would block Heinola and Samberg though, which fans will hate, but I’m not sure Maurice would play Morrisey, Heinola and Stanley in 21-22.

There are two issues with the proposed trade:
1-price: I can’t see the Jets giving up a 22 1st for a 1 year rental and very late 2nd. The drop between the two picks is very big. Replace the first and second with different assets and the value might work. If Leddy was signed for 2 or more seasons, the 1st might come into play.

The second issue is cash. Although Leddy counts 5.5M against the cap, he’s getting paid $7M next season. The Jets are a Cap team, but also a budget team. I can’t see them taking on an extra 1.5M in cash cost unless the deal is very favourable in other ways.
