Description
I'm not saying what the return is for Duchene should be, I'm just saying that $6,000,000 will have to go back to the Avs and they will want prospects and picks to build. They get an A prospect and a 1st round pick. Seabrook isn't some bum just because his contract length is bad. He's a 3 time cup winner that is still a top 3 defenseman on any team. He will be a leader for young players as well. It is also no secret that the Avs need defensive help.
From the Blackhawks perspective they can't offer much more than that. For the Avs this might not be enough. That's just how it is.

So I get the premise regarding the salary. For this year only...due to TDL rules his cap hit this year would be $6M /186*42...1.5ish... Stan is the ultimate kick the can and I'll deal with it later. What if Panarin DOESN'T hit his schedule B bonuses??? Kruger to Vegas...it could mathematically work. 100% agreed not likely, but it's possible. They want Dmen more than centers though. Forsling and Pokka together seem like musts in my book.

Avs want no part of Seabrooks, not for that contract. He is getting worse and worse every year and that contract goes on till hes 38 years old...no way

Okay so Forsling instead of Schmaltz.

I'll keep Panarin over Duchene any day of the week.

People said the exact same thing about the Weber contract. Yet the Weber contract is until he is 40 and is 7.3 mil per year.

I guess I should have been a little more clear for everybody... Any deal for Duchene is highly highly highly unlikely.

Can't qualify this enough that this isn't likely, but would the combination of Pokka and Forsling do anything for ya? Both are really young and pretty highly touted D prospects.
