Description
Give Turris a trial run at 3C and if it doesn't work out, Poehling gets a chance.

Giordano could be a deadline add, but ideally we'd want him to start the season. Russel is just a contract to balance, but it could be someone else if necessary.

Chiarot has good perceived value right now. A 2nd shouldn't be a stretch with unwanted contracts being taken in the process.

Paquette, Perrault, and Wideman will have to outplay someone for a spot on the lineup, or sub in for injuries.
If they don't prove to be effective, they can be waived and give someone else an opportunity, or we can use the extra 2nd to find someone suitable. That includes 3C if no-one else is able to secure the spot.

Crazy Idea, Why not let Poehling start at 3C

"OH NO HE DIDN"T" "TREASON" "HE'S NOT READY" "GET HIM "

It's always the same with Poehling just let him play and see what he does, no need to sit him while a much older Turris does a mediocre job

Poehling is waiver exempt. That's the ONLY reason I say try Turris first. We could have Edmonton waive Turris before the trade to alleviate that issue however. If he clears, we know for sure we will have a backup plan.

I don't really see how the Habs are ahead after this. It's not crazy, though I'm less sure what's in it for Seattle. For the Habs, I like Giordano a lot, but do he and Turris warrant giving up Chiarot, a 1st and a 3rd? I'm not quite feeling it.

Giordano with retention for a 1st and 3rd. He'd get a 1st as a rental regardless. The 3rd is to get him now and/or defer the 1st until next year when we aren't hosting the draft.
We get a 2nd for Chiarot. We might get that without taking Turris, but he may prove useful and we don't have to retain, so we can use the 2nd and cap space to do something else.

So it's Chiarot, a 1st, and 3rd for Giordano and a 2nd really. Turris is just a throw-in.

I wouldn't give up a 22 or 23 1st for 1 year of a 37 year old Giordano and I wouldn't be extending him either so I don't see the point in giving up all of that
