Idk about that, have you seen the main roster? He’s not great defensively and there are other pure scorers who are just better/faster (guys like Barzal, Stamkos, etc.). Definitely the best forward to not make it though.

I doubt Team Canada will really care about his defensive stats, they will probably mostly care about his offensive upside, as he is an elite point producer.

Yeah, but there are better point producers ahead of him. This isn’t a question of is he good, he obviously is, but is he better than at least one of the 14 Canadian forwards on the A Team? I say no, he’s the 15th best Canadian forward, hence why he’s on this team. Sucks for him that he’s Canadian, he’d be the 3rd best American centre and 2nd best centre at worst on pretty much every other team. Just goes to show how stacked Canada is up front.
