Description

Would they have been better off letting Graves go in the Expansion draft, and keeping Donskoi? If SEA takes Donskoi anyway, instead of signing Murray as a "replacement" for Graves, they would have signed a "replacement" for Donskoi on the wing

Unfortunately though due to cap, signing Murray would not be possible, unless they could've gotten him cheaper, or elect to run a 20 man roster (or a 21 man roster without Newhook). For some reason it wouldn't let me just delete Murray, so I had to do a dummytrade.

Anyway, just curious if this would be viewed as a better roster over the current roster. I feel like they lost a lot of their desired forward depth this offseason in Donskoi and Saad, with only Newhook as a potential replacement

I'd rather have the Avs current roster. Adding a good D man is more important than having an extra middle 6 F. If Macdermid is playing in the Avs top 6 then Kuemper won't be having a fun time in net

You have to assume that the top 2 D pairs will be playing 20+ minutes a night, and Byram + whoever will get 10 or less minutes. I don't think whoever is on the 3rd pairing is going to effect the outcome of many games greatly
