SJ is probably desperate to get rid of Kane, but I don’t think “give up a Top-10 pick” desperate.

The Sharks wouldn't pay us a first to get rid of Kane's contract, especially if he's playing in our top 6 once he gets here. They're likely looking for value coming back to them, as Kane is still a good hockey player.

Zero chance the Sharks trade a lotto pick to get rid of their best offensive player. Personal issues aside, that would be one of the worst examples of asset management that we've seen in a long, long time.

what is Kane worth? It seems his investigation won't be conclusive one way or another but he's not wanted in SJ lockeroom.

The sharks will not pay to trade Kane Worse comes to Worse if he doesn't join the team he will be sent down to AHL Barracuda until the end of the year when he is bought out. It's likely they will try to work out their issues and Kane will play for SJS - if not, minors.
