I don't see how that Seattle trade makes sense for the Penguins. You're moving a position they've already thinned out at losing McCann and Tanev and adding pieces they have a surplus of in Lauzon and Soucy. I know you like Lauzon, but this is a very bad asset management.

Pettersson had a rough year, we save cap space and get more grit and size. Lauzon has played RD. Carter had a waaaay better year than Zucker and spent most of his time on line 2. Carter with Malkin and Rust could be a deadly line. We have so much depth for the bottom 6 that we could move out a guy like Zucker. We also bring in a young forward who has size.

I have no complaints about the Pettersson deal. It's what you do after.

What does Carter have anything to do with this? You're losing ANOTHER winger and there's no way that Nolan Patrick deal flies. Also Patrick might have size, but he's not a physical player.

Unless you have actual evidence that Lauzon played the right side effectively, this is terrible asset management. You've honed in on a so-so player because he happens to play physical.
