Description

Now that everyone is signed in 2021, I wanted to do a future look, this time with no big trades. I previously did one of these with Eichel. But, let's see how it looks "from within". Pending growth, I think this roster is strong enough to build from within and keep going.

Signing notes: This is the year when it gets tough, with Chytil, Lafreniere, and Miller needing contracts. It's possible Miller gets a little less, and Lafreniere gets a little more. This can also be where the organization makes a decision on Chytil. It also doesn't get any easier, with Lindgren, Kakko and Kravstov coming up the following year. Also, yes, I'm keeping Reaves. This division won't be getting any weaker any time soon. This year will probably be the year he starts being scratched most of the time, though, given his age.

Overall this was really fun to make. I don't think a massive overhaul is needed. These rosters should contend as long as everyone keeps progressing.

There could be some major cap issues of Kakko Lafreniere Kravtsov Miller and Lundkvist live up to their potential. Can't see Trouba or Kreider being on this team by the time their contracts are up.

The offseason after this year (so 2024-2025), both of them have a M-NTC, and they submit a 15 team no trade list. I think that summer one or the other either gets traded, or bought out. Possibly even both. But I do think they can get to this season with both of them on the roster still. Maybe it's a trade deadline deal, but probably a summer deal. It will be really tough to find a trade suitor, though. Impossible to predict right now, who knows what will happen
