Jim Benning gets poached by the Coyotes before training camp ends, AZ ownership loved his intangibles and how quickly he fixed his cap issues in VAN so they contacted Canucks ownership and made a deal to acquire his services prior to puck drop in October.

Ottawa foolishly accepts AZ's offer sheet for Tkachuk, AZ finishes 2nd in the west - winning the cup v Jumbo Joe and Florida in 5 games. Ottawa receives the 32nd, 64th, and 96th picks in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and send them in a package with Matt Murray to AZ for Cap relief
