Theyll have to do something....under the cap floor.

Theres no real UFAs left....maybe take some cap dumps, for example an EDM 2nd and 3mil/3 yrs Kassian for future considerations or 3.5mil/2 yrs C/LW Kerfoot for BUF 3rd?

They need to meet the cap (or for the sake of the fans make an attempt to put an entertaining team on the ice) and playing just youngsters without capable vets might damage them.

I like the defense, but think Hagg will get more games than Pysyk, I'd mix the young guys with vets though:

Dahlin-Miller
Butcher-Joki
Bryson-Hagg
Pysyk

The Sabres are in position to snag any player off waivers that is sent down from any other team’s training camp roster. In fact they can claim several players because they currently have a handful of guys that no one would ever claim should they try to send them to Rochester. There’s no reason to pay anything of value for a player contract another team needs to get rid of. If you’re going to trade for Kassian or Kerfoot, you offer garbage or nothing and they take it.

Oh I agree, but at the same time, due to most not being 2 way contracts, you won;t hit the cap floor by raiding the waiver wire as those players are generally league minimum types, and somebody like Kassian even in minors costs the nhl club more than his replacement capwise. (TOR's Engvall is a good example who might hit waivers. He's a 1.25mil cap hit, but even if they send him to minors, he counts 125k off the cap, somebody like Kassian or kerfoot is far more)

Agree on Kassian/Kerfoot that BUF should offer nothing of value for one or offer little for quaklity players who have to be moved for cap. You wont get lots of quality, but you get a guy who fits a spot and eats cap that might have value later at deadline.
