Description
This acgm is my own take on ideas from @joshelkin.

https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2842188
The original acgm.

Most of my reasoning is the same as the other acgm.
Most of the signings satisfy trotzs 30+ requirement, while a bunch are 35+ which is even 'better'.

Cal retires and martin follows suit. If not he gets traded for whatever he will return which isnt much of anything.

There are plenty of upcoming FAs, it doesnt have to be these guys.

Forsberg - could be gaudreau or hertl.
I picked forsberg bc hes good defensively, gaudreau will probably get more money and hertl is better at C. Hes also a right handed shot.

Radulov - could be pavelski or giroux.
I picked radulov bc barry likes having a playmaker/pass first guy on lines 1 and 2. Giroux probably re-signs in philly and pavelski will be 38 and is more of a goal scorer than a passer.

McNabb - could be giordano or chiarot.
I picked McNabb bc i think gio may stay in seattle as they decided to name him captain. Chiarot ismt as good as mcnabb plus mcnabb gas been successful playing with theodore who imo plays a very similar style to dobson. Gio will also be 39yo by next season though it doesnt seem like age fazes lou.

Fleury - could be holtby or halak.
I picked fleury bc hes the best of those goalies. He also may want to play for a another team besides chicago given how his career would end (getting stabbed in the back by mccrimmon) and maybe he'd want it to end on his terms. It might be a reach but imho i think he will play another season. Holtby would also be ok for the reasons mentioned in the original acgm, though halak would be plan C.

MacDermid - could be any other depth defenseman.
I picked macdermid bc hes a physical defenseman (the kind trotz likes). I also personally like the fact that hes listed as a ld/rd even though that doesnt actually mean anything lol.

The ottawa trade makes a lot of sense imo. OTT gets a vet who can play middle 6, is good for 50 points, and is a leader which is good for a young team. The pick will most probably be in the early 60s. Islanders get a little cap relief and get a pick to help a weak prospect pool.

The COL trade can be with a bunch of teams. COL might
re-sign kuemper, or pick up somebody else so theyre just a placeholder. I didnt want to pick EDM, bc every varly trade on CF goes to EDM. It could also be MTL if price doesnt end up coming back, or he retires after this season. Maybe even CHI if they cant find someone else.

I like Forsberg but I want to see how he does this season before committing that $ and term for him. His best years could be behind him. Radulov is still a great player when healthy and I would be down to sign him, it’s been a long time but I’m pretty sure he went back to the KHL because of Trotz back in there Nashville days.

If Giroux is available id probably sign him over Forbsberg depending on how much term he wants. Not sure he would sign with the isles though

Whoa is this a thing:

Most of the signings satisfy trotzs 30+ requirement, while a bunch are 35+ which is even 'better'.

Wouldn't be surprised if so

The issue with giroux is that he will turn 35 during next season. I was looking for someone we could get for some significant time. Not another 1 or 2 year player whos already old.

No its not an actual 'thing' but trotz loves his vets and hates any young players. Its become a standing joke that you wont play for trotz if youre under 30.
