Description
Not a BUF fan, but wanted to throw up some potential trades for Eichel as the situation seems to be coming to a head.
Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Dean, Zach [Reserve List]
  2. Krebs, Peyton
  3. Smith, Reilly
  4. Tuch, Alex
  5. 2023 2nd round pick (VGK)
  6. 2024 1st round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
Smith to make the money work.
Tuch is the current talent. Could be flipped for more picks
Krebs and Dean are high-end prospects.

Hard time seeing VGK doing this without Eichel actually playing. Even with the bad start they are considered contenders.
2.
BUF
  1. Askarov, Yaroslav [Reserve List]
  2. Evangelista, Luke
  3. Tomasino, Philip
  4. 2022 3rd round pick (LAK)
  5. 2024 1st round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
If NSH says they are done for 2022, this could be the way to shake them up. This is really about BUF getting a top goalie prospect (Askarov).
NSH
    Jack Eichel
    3.
    BUF
    1. Eller, Lars
    2. Kempný, Michal
    3. Lapierre, Hendrix
    4. Mantha, Anthony
    5. 2022 4th round pick (WSH)
    6. 2023 1st round pick (WSH)
    7. 2024 1st round pick (WSH)
    Additional Details:
This one is all about extending the window for Ovie. You could swap Lapierre for McMichael if you wish. Again, Eichel's playing status would affect this trade.

I would suspect that BUF would try to flip Eller and Kempny, but they had to be included in the deal to make the cap work. BUF is going to have to take cap back to make this deal work for almost any team.
    WSH
      Jack Eichel
      4.
      BUF
      1. Bourque, Mavrik
      2. Dellandrea, Ty
      3. Harley, Thomas
      4. 2022 2nd round pick (DAL)
      5. 2023 1st round pick (DAL)
      6. 2024 2nd round pick (DAL)
      Additional Details:
This one would happen at the 2022 draft, so cap gymnastics wouldn't come into play. This would take pressure off Benn and Seguin as they are getting older, allowing one or both to play on the wing more.

With the amount of fear that teams have acquiring Eichel because of his injury I think his value is pretty rock bottom. None of these trades would happen now, tho in the summer they definitely would've been more likely.

The only way a trade works is if Eichel gets the surgery putting himself in noncompliance allowing the team to nullify the contract so he doesn't end up on their LTIR. His problem is he wants to get the surgery and have the team take all the risk. No team is going to do that because it's not just about the money, it's having 10 million on LTIR the insurance won't cover. The Leafs, Montreal and NY could shoulder the money on the contract but they aren't going to be willing to tie up the cap space they otherwise would have as free cap space.
