The Rangers definitely have the pieces to make a deal, I just don’t think it makes sense from a cap perspective, especially considering the next offseason which is just a mess needing to resign almost half the roster and having less than $15 mil to do so.

They do but you're right it would hurt cap-wise in the long term. Would work a lot better if the Rangers could go back and undo a couple of contracts :/

I know everyone expects the 9-10M x 8 but I really think he is going to take a 6-7M x 3 bridge so that we can compete and buy time for trade clauses to change
