Those are weak offers.

I dont think either is enough, especially with the retention.

Maybe instead of SDA you offer Amirov AND instead of Ritchie (who I doubt ANA wants back at 2.5mil) you offer Kerfoot. But I still think its a weak offer even then.

Mikheyev, especially on IR, has no value, as hes a 27 yr old UFA who isn;t that good. So its Leddy and retention for a 2nd a year away?

(You can;t retain 500k on a 1mil player I dont think, and you're over the cap, leaving you with a paper thin 19 skater team and still not made the bottom 6 forwards any better)

I agree with some of this but honestly, I think the Anaheim trade is pretty good.
The Leafs bolster their lineup with another forward that can play in the top-6 while Anaheim gets a 1st, a decent prospect, and an NHL-ready defenseman. That's a lot for a rental piece.

But yeah, Deslauriers should be taken out (I get why you put him in though) and I doubt Detroit is looking for a UFA winger as part of a deal for a rental

I just dont see Dermott as being a key bit, even in toronto his icetime has plummeted (until last game). Hes a rather average 3rd pairing guy, who is not a pt producing puck rusher or a crease clearer. He is a capable 3rd pairing guy and no more. SDA is probably not even a top 5 prospect in a Toronto system thats generally ranked 15th or worst in the league. Rakell is worth SDA, the 1st and Dermott probably by himself, so the retention is worth far more than the addition of the 2.5 ritchie.

A 3rd pairing dman and a 4th line winger making 4mil, a midlevel prospect and likely low 1st is worth a 1st line guy making 2mil?

Just dont think its enough and I dont really think it makes TOR better. I just dont think dermott and ritchie (and SDA) have good value.

I mean that is a very good point. I think you're right, but if Toronto offers a prospect with more potential than SDA I think Anaheim might consider it. I know other teams will probably put together some intriguing packages for Rakell, but at the end of the day, it'll probably just end up being a trade deadline rental so giving up a top-5 prospect might not be the play.

And it's not a whole lot of retention really. Maybe throw a mid-round pick, especially if it's closer to the deadline

You are right about Detroit but a 2nd is probably going to be Leddy's return so I do believe Detroit says yes.
