Description
Panarin doesn't hit his Schedule B bonuses in this scenario. He is currently on the edge so it will be interesting the last 9 games of the season.

Panik accepts a 1 year deal that will take him directly to UFA. He will have another year to prove he can sustain his levels and then cash in big on the open market.

Campbell resigns on the same deal he had this year. Pokka resigns for cheap and makes the roster.
Roszival either agrees to terminate his contract after Kempny leaves or plays in the minors all year.

If DeBrincat doesn't make the roster out of camp then Jurco (or Motte) is up and Hayden or Hossa moves to the top line. Hartman moves to the 3rd line.

I would pay a lot of money that this team win the CUP

I think Kempney and Rozival both stick around next year. If only so Chicago can play a lot of games (at least some) with Rozival with the team at league minimum. I think they will be using him to manipulate the cap as much as possible and save room for the trade deadline move that will be made.

I'm 90% sure that players on the roster, whether scratches for games or not, count towards the daily cap hit. So even if Rosy doesn't play a game the entire year but is on the roster his full $650,000 cap hit still counts against the Hawks cap.
Again I'm 90% sure but not 100%. If you find evidence of me being wrong please share.

Also thanks for commenting. Nobody ever comments on my posts. Which I guess means they are usually good or nobody wants to argue with me [:o

I'll comment!!! smile I'm just one person, but I would rather trade Panik than give him a 1 year $2M deal. Not saying he isn't worth it, but it's the worst position for the Hawks to be in. He's currently an RFA so you can test the market come draft time to see what his value is to other teams. If it's anything like Shaw's...go turn that into a few more young pieces. They're pretty depleted (numbers wise not talent wise) when it comes to the prospect pool. Sure, there are under the radar talents like Krys or Shalunov which may or may not work out, but it's easier to trade 1st rounders @ the deadline when you're getting (2) 2nds at the draft. I just don't want to see him leave for nothing. Hayden is really young and hasn't played much, but he can definitely bring that physical presence that Panik brings. Hayden's natural position is also RW. I could see a swap there and keep the #1 RW on and ELC value. I also see that you put Seabs on the bottom pair. Understood completely that it's just for a better pairing for Forsling, but I'd swap those two lines. I love me some chunky soup, but he's really accepted a bottom pair role. It'll allow him to play longer too. Hurray for his wife making move back to Chicago!!!

I was thinking about that but the big question is what is the return. Obviously its worth it to test the market but you also have to wonder if keeping him for a cheap contract would greatly improve their chances to win a cup. IMO keeping him on a cheap deal does.
Can Hayden fill Panik's spot and be a 20 goal scorer? If the Hawks believe so then he becomes tradable.

I am not a huge Seabrook fan. Haven't been for quite a while. IMHO I'd think that if these were the pairings that both the Forsling-Seabs and Soup-TVR pairings would receive close to the same amount of ice time.

I am not 100% sure how the cap is officially calculated.... I know you need to be compliant by a certain date with a 23 man roster and rozival will help that. Obviously there has to be some kind of a system where cap hits are pro rated. I know at the trade deadline all the cap hits are pro-rated for the remainder of the season which leads me to think that every game has x value based on the full contract and they are cumulative throughout the year. this would explain why guys get sent down and called up so ofter throughout the year. The LTIR provides cap relief based on someone missing games so i would assume that daily roster has some effect on the cap. I will do some looking and see if i can find more info but there has to be some way everything is prorated or teams that have lots of injuries and have to call up many different guys from the AHL don't get stuck with there whole contract counting towards the cap or it would be difficult to remain compliant. .
