Would you trade Suzuki for Valeri Nichushkin, Alex Beaucage, and a 4th?

No? Yeah, no one gives away young talent signed to great deals for a pile of crap. Easy decline by the Avs.

Since when is Toffoli crap? And I don't think you've done your research on Struble either lol. Unless you think that Girard is Cale Makar, tone down your expectations on what you'll get for him. Toffoli is a 30-goal scorer, Struble is a B+ prospect and you also get a mid-round pick. Toffoli in itself is a great piece to add to the Avs since he's got term and a low price tag for a win now team. Add in the prospect and pick, it's a very solid deal for the Avs.

Toffoli is a 29-year-old winger who has historically put up decent numbers. Not a bad pickup by any means, but he will regress towards the back half of his deal so he's no trade centerpiece. Struble was drafted in the second round and hasn't done all that much to impress since. Drew Helleson, drafted by the Avs with the next pick, has been far better. Not to mention the Avs have a wealth of D prospects in Barron, Helleson, and Behrens. They are in need of forward prospects, not D. So to reiterate, you're trying to trade Toffoli (will regress shortly), Struble (not impressing), and a 4th for Girard, a 23-year-old Norris caliber defenseman signed at $5m for the next 6 years. Where is this a solid deal for the Avs?

If the Avs really do trade Girard, which is a big if, it will be for a similar age and quality forward signed for term (e.g. William Nylander), not Toffoli and an average defensive prospect.

As for the Norris reference: https://theathletic.com/2501883/2021/04/07/do-we-need-to-rethink-how-we-judge-norris-candidates-samuel-girard-adam-fox-and-others-are-forcing-the-question/

"Norris caliber defenseman" ok buddy. I'll give it to you, the Avs have 2 Norris caliber defensemen but Girard isn't one of them. Toews and Makar are levels above him and even then I think Toews is a longshot to ever contend for a Norris. Girard is a good young defenseman and if you look to move him, I can't imagine you get anyone better than a Toffoli, who has cup experience btw.
